Who we are

Goodmakers exists to form, connect, and mobilize leaders for the generational project of cultural renewal.

We pursue this mission by educating and equipping leaders across culture, fostering a cross-sector network committed to renewal, and producing cultural research that illuminates emerging value trends in American culture.

At the heart of our work is a shared story shaped by self-giving love, mutual cooperation, and a cruciform vision of human flourishing.

The Challenges We Face

To meet the moment and leave a better world for generations to come, we must address these cultural challenges.

  • For decades, an “anti-story” has circulated throughout American culture, deconstructing our guiding stories and values, leaving us without a shared story that could unite people in a shared mission, purpose, and trust.

Beneath this anti-story was the cynical claim that oppressive power is the only real fabric that holds our civilization together.

We reject the “conflict view” of civilization, and believe that our shared project is best united by sacrificial love, cooperation, and a cruciform vision of human flourishing.

  • A once-in-a-generation, leadership succession wave is underway, yet emerging leaders require education and soul-formation that moves them beyond the cynicism and deconstruction of the past, and unites them with others in a better story and shared mission.

  • Cultural renewal requires healthy institutions, yet Americans' trust in institutions has been in decline across nearly every major institution (church, education, government, banking/finance, etc).

  • Both legacy media and social media platforms too often reward outrage, not wisdom.
These incentive structures create perpetual cycles of unhealthy “content” that deforms our souls and fracture our institutions.

  • We know how to track clicks and cash, but not values. Leaders often lack decision-grade data on cultural value trends to guide strategy.

Cultural shifts can happen swiftly in the age of social media, and leaders need timely insights into those shifts.

Our Core Values

Self-Giving Love (Kenosis)

We believe true leadership begins with humility and sacrifice. We seek the good of others before ourselves, following a cruciform vision of service as the highest form of strength.

Cultural Stewardship

Institutions are indispensable to cultural renewal and human flourishing. We carry forward what is good, reform what is unhealthy or not optimally functioning, and, when necessary, build new organizations and institutions that promote the common good.

Pursuit of the Wholesome

In a generation deeply formed by cynicism, deconstruction, and irony, we choose honesty, integrity, and sincerity. We foster spaces where all that has been fragmented in us and in our culture can find wholeness.

Pursuit of the True, Good, and Beautiful

Our work is guided not by short-term wins or partisan trends, but by timeless “transcendentals”—the true, the good, and the beautiful.

We unite those committed to traditional Christian values and communities with virtuous, “reality-respecters” who may not have public commitments to a particular church or creed but share in the desire for a project of cultural renewal with “cruciform” center

Mutual Cooperation

We reject the logic of zero-sum competition and scarcity mindsets. Renewal comes when leaders work across sectors and differences, building together with a view of shared abundance.

Generational Responsibility

We act with our children and grandchildren in mind. Every program, partnership, and decision is measured against whether it leaves them a stronger culture and more trustworthy institutions.
